Portrait of My Father

My dad, David, is an emotional and complex soul with a passion for nature, especially being in the woods. He is the true definition of a New England "mountain man." I think that's where I get my love of the "sublime" and being outdoors from.

In this diptych, I wanted to capture the essence of his many moods and intense self-reflection, which often occurs mid-morning over coffee. I turned the photo inward, so he's looking at himself, like a digital mirror of sorts.

Another one of my Dad portraits appeared in Photo Vogue last year, you can see the link here.
